This meeting will be held in a hybrid format. Board members will be in person. Some staff will be present in the room while others may participate virtually. Members of the public are invited to join the meeting in person at City Hall (6 E 6th Street) or virtually using the Zoom link provided below.

Written public comment must be received by 12:00 p.m. on the day of the meeting. Send correspondence electronically to parneill@lawrenceks.gov. If you wish to have your contact information withheld, indicate so in your correspondence. Comments received after the deadline will not be posted and there is no guarantee that such comments will be considered.

Live public comment can be made in person at the meeting or virtually by using the Zoom meeting registration link provided HERE.

To share Visual documentation during the hybrid meeting (presentation, map, photo, document, etc.), it must be emailed as a PDF to parneill@lawrenceks.gov by 12:00 p.m. on the day of the meeting. Hard copies will also be accepted for sharing with the Advisory Board at the meeting. Please provide eight (8) hardcopies, for seven Advisory Board members and one for staff.

PUBLIC COMMENT:

The public is allowed to speak at public comment after first being recognized by the Chair, except that any complaints or comments regarding individually identifiable officers are not allowed.   Rather, any such comments or complaints may be provided to the Board in writing, and the Board will forward such comment or complaint to the appropriate person within the Lawrence Police Department.  The Board may establish reasonable limitations on the allowable length of public comment.  As a general practice, the Board will not discuss or debate these items, nor will it make decisions on items presented during this time.

Presentation on the PRC Master Plan recommendation #R168 – Formalize the Lawrence Public Art Program by advancing the three-time reaffirmed percent for art Resolution—initially passed in 1986—to an Ordinance and implementing the accompanying public art program plan.

Background: Following a staff presentation on the current and proposed Percent for Art policy at the March 3 City Commission meeting, the City Commission requested that the Cultural Arts Commission review the PRC Master Plan-recommended policy update and accompanying Public Art Plan and provide a recommendation back to the City Commission.
